Public Areas – 180 Guestrooms & Suites
Within the magnificent structure of the Mandarin Oriental Tokyo, a tranquil celebration of nature’s creativity takes centre stage. Embracing the concept of a tree, the entrance on the ground floor of the Nihonbashi Mitsui Tower represents the base, while the arrival lobby depicts a patina-hued grand tapestry of roots. ‘Woods and Water’ are essential elements in the formation of Japanese culture, shaping and supporting the richness of the Japanese way of life. These natural themes permeate the interior, exuding a unitary beauty that extends to every guest room.

Throughout the key spaces, renowned textile designer, Reiko Sudo, was called upon to custom design the stunning materials. A rich palette of organic colours and textures depict the arboreal patterns, the changing seasons and even rain — in its tame and tempestuous forms.
