Grand Hyatt Xi'an

With an illustrious history spanning over 3,000 years — it is the Silk Road’s eastern terminus and the capital of important dynasties such as the Han — Xi’an is recognised among the Four Great Ancient Capitals of China. As such, strength and boldness in design would be befitting for the Grand Hyatt Xi’an located in Shaanxi province. Alluding to a soaring hawk, a 10 metre-high sculptural feature wall in white with curving vertical lines extends across the dramatic double-height lobby, alongside wing-like patterned timber walls. The Silk Road’s scenery and rich multi-cultural background were drawn upon for a compelling design narrative.
